Anyone tried K-Meleon 0.8? It is based on Mozilla 1.5. Blows Firebird away IMO.

It's really quick and compact, but I prefer Firebird because of its extensive library of plugins (extensions) and more easier to "tab-browse". But it's on my top 3 browsers.

1. Firebird
2. K-Meleon
3. IE6

K-Meleon briefly was my primary browser, until Opera 7 came out.

If I were to use any Gecko, I'd probably opt for K-M again: a native interface is always faster than the XUL BLUI.

I tried MYIE once but I couldn't stand its ugly gui. Then when I realized its settings were changing my Internet Zone security config it ways that weren't obvious given the descriptions provided I canned it permanently.

You've still got all the IE security problems because all MYIE, Avant, & several others do is run a shell around IE.

Hp  , I' ve got your internet security settings set in my browser and I 've had no problems with MYIE 2 changing them . Nice plugins and tabbed browsing . Take a look at the latest version if you have time ; I would be interested in what you think .

Well Netscape soured my attitude towards plug-ins a long time ago and I simply don't like tabbed browsing. There just isn't a good reason for me to use it. I'm fine with IE.

IE? Puh-lease...

Maybe when they begin fixing bugs, and make it HTML and CSS2-compliant.

But that'll never arrive to a current OS, it *may8 arrive with Longhorn, but by that time I expect to be fully migrated to a non-MS OS [Smiley]
